Paul Willenbrock

Paul helped pass monumental state legislation to prevent abuse of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through his dedicated advocacy at the State House. He provided testimony and walked the halls of the State House speaking about the need to protect individuals who cannot protect themselves. He regularly attended rallies and other advocacy events and worked with his own State Senator and Representative and helped make sure this bill became law. Paul is also a volunteer on The Arc of Massachusetts Government Affairs Committee and was actively involved in getting Nicky’s Law passed, which is a bill authorizing a registry to hold the names of employees who have committed acts of substantiated abuse which have resulted in serious physical injury or serious emotional injury for adults served by the Department of Developmental Services. It was officially signed by Governor Charlie Baker in
February 2020.
